I have lived alone for the past three years and that little girl was my companion. She was treated better and raised with more manners than a lot of kids are these days. Finally, after two years of working two jobs I had a reason to want to come home at night. She filled the empty space in my heart with the love that only a few people would understand. Just a dog you may say but much more than that to me. I had just lost the dog that I had owned for many years just a few months before Zoey came into my life. It took a lot of thought to make the decision to even get another dog. So there again, Zoey saved me from loneliness. She learned very quickly to do things and was even housebroken within the first month of living with me. A friendly little girl, even though her breed didn’t dictate that she be such, she greeted everyone she came into contact with by sitting and offering them a high five as a welcome. After much worrying I even saw my 14 year old poodle come around and decide that she was a wonderful friend. She loved to take long hikes and even had her very own back pack. We were into safety as well, so she rode with a doggie seat belt when we made all those trips to the vet and to visit family. There’s really no way to express to you just how much I grew to love that little thing. She was a big girl, weighing about 40 pounds on our last trip to the vet, but still had to sit on my lap every evening as we watched the latest episode of Survivor. Lots of love from something most would say doesn’t have any real feelings. I would greatly have to disagree with that philosophy. Fortunately, for my sake, there was lots of video footage and pictures that my boyfriend took of her. He loved her just as much as I did and is just as devastated as I am even though he only got to see her on the weekends. I could go on, we packed a lot of memories into that 6 months, but there’s really no point.
The previous text was written months ago by my now fiance, Amy. Amy and I will be married on the 6th of May, also we now have a new sweet baby in our lives, a Rottweiler named Bella. She is a doll and we also still have our beloved and very aging Poodle Tia.
This is for Zoey, though. We will always remember you and cherish our time with you "Sweet Baby"
Zoey!....Zoey!...Zoey!!
